One
fine Sunday morning I came across the advertisement of
Pakistan Montessori council. It offered a one year
diploma course, through distant learning, including a
free 15 days workshop. I thought to myself “why not?”,
although I was not quiet sure if the “approved by
government of Pakistan” label was true or not.
Within a few days, I was at the office. As I entered the
building with my father, I was expecting a lady, or even
a girl, with that cheesy accent, who can cross every
limit to convince you that ‘this is the course for you’.
But to my surprise, we were welcomed by the owner
herself! Yes it was ma’am roshni. It took me only a few
seconds to realize “this lady knows what she is
offering”. Her friendly attitude, and broad minded
approach, and of course her charming smile, made me feel
at home at once. She explained to me how and why
Montessori education is important. Being a Montessori
student, in my early life, myself, I soon understood
what the idea behind this form of education was. My
father paid the payment right at the spot.
After a week I attended the workshop. It was an awesome
experience. The content, the classroom, the syllabus,
the teaching method, the behavior of fellow students,
the question –answer session, in short of everything,
was just of this world. I often wondered “is it really a
Pakistani institute?” because the style and pattern was
of international standard. The 15 days passed within a
blink of an eye. The big day for the test arrived. And
guess what? I had a misunderstanding and was expecting
the test a day later. That meant when every one else was
revising their notes, for perhaps the 3 or 4th time, I
was reading them for the first time. But alhamdolilah,
thanks to the wonderful teaching techniques of ma’am
roshni , the to-the-point slides, the practicals we had
performed, the video cd’s we were shown, and the on hand
material we were allowed to use, it took me only a few
minutes to go through the whole course. And I did very
well in the test too
That was how it happened. And now? It feels great. I am
working on the assignments each month. I feel very
confident that I now know how to deal with children in
the Montessori style. My first student is my niece. I am
ready and very eager to teach in any Montessori as soon
as I get my diploma. I am willing to change the way
children are taught in their early and most vulnerable
years. It has given me a direction,. for many it might
just be another diploma, but if you ask me, it’s a
complete new mindset, a new approach!

Before
joining the diploma course of Pakistan Montessori
council. I had no idea about teaching especially when it
comes to teach children of Montessori level. One day
while reading the newspaper; I saw the advertisement of
Pakistan Montessori council. I got interested in the
course and discussed with my elder sister about it. But
initially my sisters refused and discouraged me.
However, after few days we discuss again and I decided
to take admission in diploma.
Now with the grace of Allah, now I have completed my
course and workshop with good marks. I learnt a lot of
things from this course and workshop and felt drastic
change in myself. Before the course and workshop, I
didn’t even know the exact sounds of alphabet, which I
know now. I also corrected so many common mistakes of my
daily life. For instance, sometimes we hold tray with
one hand which is not correct. Similarly, sometimes we
turn the pages with wrong way etc. We make such mistakes
repeatedly but we just don’t realize it ourself. After
doing the course, I came to know where I was wrong.
Three months back I got a job offer from PMC, which I
accepted happily. Now, I work with my teachers and feeI
really proud of
being a part of Pakistan’s biggest Montessori community.
I am very thankful to everyone at PMC.
